This new decal sheet from Zotz Decals includes markings for 16 Hurricane Mk1's...some with noseart.  Most are from the Battle of Britain and some fought in Malta.

The aircraft include the following.

  • Hurricane Mk1 JX B Serial Number P3395, # 1 Squadron flown by F/L AV "Darkie" Clowes from Wittering/Collyweston, August 1940. Includes noseart of a honeybee.

  • Hurricane Mk1 YB J Serial Number N2359, # 17 Squadron flown by P/O LW Stevens from Debden, July/August 1940. Includes noseart.Hurricane Mk1 Serial Number P3729, # 33 Squadron flown by F/O VC "Woodie" Woodward from Fuka (Egypt), October 1940. Desert camo scheme.

  • Hurricane Mk1 VY R Serial Number P2923, # 85 Squadron flown by P/O AG Lewis from Croydon, June/July 1940.Hurricane Mk1 VY Q Serial Number P3854, # 85 Squadron flown by S/L Townsend at Church Fenton, September 1940.

  • Hurricane Mk1 VY X Serial Number P3119, # 85 Squadron flown by unknown pilot at Gravesend, from late 1940.

  • Hurricane Mk1 A LK, # 87 Squadron flown by F/L I "Widge" Gleed from Execer June/July 1940.  

  • Hurricane Mk1 A LK, # 87 Squadron flown by F/L I "Widge" Gleed from Execer August/October 1940.  

  • Hurricane Mk1 A LK, # 87 Squadron flown by F/L I "Widge" Gleed from Execer February/April 1941. Includes noseart.  

  • Hurricane Mk1 A LK, Serial Number P2961, # 242 Squadron flown by F/O WL "Willie" McKnight from Coltishall in December1940 / January 1941. Includes noseart.  

  • Hurricane Mk1 LE X, Serial Number P2381, # 242 Squadron flown by unknown pilot from Nantes, France in June 1940. Includes noseart.  

  • Hurricane Mk1 GN A, Serial Number P3576, # 249 Squadron flown by F/L JB Nicolson VC from Biscombe Down on August 16 1940.Hurricane Mk1 J, Serial Number P3731, # 261 Squadron flown by Sgt. FN Robertson from Luka & Ta Qali (Malta), in December 1940.

  • Hurricane Mk1 A, Serial Number V7474, # 261 Squadron flown by F/L JAF MacLachlan & Sgt FN Robertson from Luka & Ta Qali (Malta), from November 1940 - February 1941.

  • Hurricane Mk1 NN D, Serial Number P3143, # 310 Squadron flown by P/O Y Bergman from Duxford, in September / October 1940.

  • Hurricane Mk1 DU J, Serial Number L1926, # 312 Squadron flown by P/O A Vasatko from Speke, in October 1940.

The 8 pages of instructions include color views of each aircraft to assist with painting and decal placement.  The instructions include exhaustive detail to help the modeller to get all the tiny details correct.

The decals are beautifully printed on 2 large decal sheets and one smaller insert decal sheet.  The decals are in perfect register and include a full set of stencils.

This is one of those decal sheets that sells out fast due to all the terrific stories and Aces that flew these Hurricanes.  With all the markings and noseart......it will be a tough job to just pick one Hurricane from this decal sheet to build.  Well done to  Zotz Decals for making this sheet  a reality.
