This new
book from Model Alliance is created by well known profile artist Jon
Freeman.
The book
focuses on the Photo Reconnaissance Spitfires in Worldwide Service and
gives modellers a large selection of colour profiles to help
expand their reference library. I've scanned a tiny selection of
the colour profiles to give you a small taste to the many colour
profiles presented in this book. In fact there are 105 different
Photo Reconnaissance
Spitfire colour profiles featured in this book. Featured in this
book are Photo Reconnaissance Spitfires in a large variety of paint
schemes from the RAF, RN, Royal Canadian AF, USAF, Russian AF,
South African AF, Argentina AF, Royal Norwegian AF, Danish AF, Royal
Indian AF, Belgian AF, Swedish AF, Royal Thai AF, Turkish AF. The
RAF and RN aircraft were deployed all around the world including Canada,
France, North Africa, Egypt, Palestine, India, Western Desert,
Russia, Italy, Thailand, Argentina, South East Asia, Norway,
Denmark, Germany, Siam (Thailand), Singapore (Malaya), Belgium, Japan,
Hong Kong, Cyprus, Suez Canal, Burma, Sweden, Turkey, and
Malaysia. The
colour profiles in this book feature Spitfires from Mk1's through to the
Mk19.

Included with each colour profile
is info on the particular plane as well as information about it's paint
scheme. Above is an example of one of the colour profiles. Twenty
three of
the profiles also include a top and bottom view and two side profiles to
give an all around view of certain Spitfires included in this book. Below
I've include a tiny selection of some of the pages....out of respect to the
artist's copyright, I am not providing larger scans.

Also included in the book are 15
vintage photos (2 in colour) of Photo Reconnaissance Spitfires.
Spitfire Decals
for some of the planes featured in this book will be available from the
The
Aviation Workshop / Model Alliance
Group
website in the near future.
I'm always impressed with the
consistant quality of the books in this series. Although the cover is a soft
cover....it is a heavy weight cardboard cover. The pages are heavy weight
paper....this is a reference book sure to last a long long time.
I'm quite impressed with this new book and I look forward to other additions to
this new On Target Profile Series. I recommend this book to anyone
interested in Photo Reconnaissance Spitfires or Spitfires in general. Special thanks to Jon Freeman
for the review sample and bringing this book to my attention.
You can order this
book directly from the The
Aviation Workshop / Model Alliance
Group website.
