Lifelike Decals
is a Decal company out of Japan. The owners have been involved
in the researching of decal sheets for other companies for many
years. They have decided to create their own decal line. Their
second sheet is this one featuring four different Me-109s including an
Emil all the way to a Gustav.
The first plane on this
decal sheet is a Me-109 E-1 flown by Feldwebel HansTroitzsch, of 6/JG77, Wangerooge
/ Norway in 1939. The camo is RLM 71/02/65 with
almost no mottling on the sides. This plane has crests on the sides
of the fuselage by the cockpit and a penguin on the rudder. The second plane on this decal
sheet is a Me-109 F-4 that was flown by Hptm. Helmut Mertens, Staffelkapitan
1/JG3 near Stalingrad at the end of July 1942. This one has a very
complicated and attractive paint scheme of RLM 74/75/76 and a 3 digit
number on the side of the fuselage "111".
This 3 digit number is very rare. This plane has plenty of Mottling
on the side of the fuselage and plenty of kill markings on the rudder.
This plane has a RLM 04 (yellow) fuselage band, rudder, lower engine cowl
panel and wing tips. There are 2 different crests on the side of the
fuselage by the cockpit.
The third plane on this decal
sheet is a Me-109G-2/R6 flown by Hptm. Wolfdieter Huy, Staffelkapitan of 1/JG77
somewhere during the transfer from Russia to North Africa on Oct 25 1942.
The upper and side paint scheme on this fighter is 2 tone dark green RLM 70/71,
but not in correct shades of those colours. This plane features a
white prop hub, fuselage band, and wing tips. Balkenkreuz's on fuselage
sides are grey and white instead of black and white. This plane is white
1. On the sides of the engine cowl is a crest. On the rudder are
plenty of kill markings including ships kill markings.
The fourth plane on this decal
sheet is a Me 109 G-6 flown by Hptm. Karl Rammelt, Kdr. II/JG51, Nisch/Serbia in
December of 1943. Paint scheme is possibly RLM 74/75/76 with a yellow
rudder and lower engine cowl panel. Fuselage band is dark grey. On
the fuselage side by the cockpit is art work depicting a battle club. On
the side of the engine cowl is artwork of a falcon. The rudder sport
plenty of kill markings. Balkenkreuz's on fuselage sides are grey and
white instead of black and white.
| The quality of
these decals is quite pleasing. The carrier film in nicely limited
around the decals. The decals themselves are clearly printed and in
perfect register. The colour of the decals appear solid enough to
prevent paint showing through the decals.
