These two
early Mustangs provided an opportunity for me to lavish on an old and a great
reference, "Camouflage & Markings" by Goulding and Jones (Ducimus
Press) that I bought some 30 years ago while on a summer holiday in
London.

Both are
Accurate Miniatures kits and required some modifications, such as the
installment of a pair of chin 0.5s. The aircraft are from No. 400 RCAF and 613
RAF squadrons.
| This kit is not
easy to assemble like the Tamiya counter part, but has a 3 bladder
prop and other features that characterized the Mustang I. The old
Aeromaster "Early Mustangs" decal sheet enabled me to highlight
a forgotten, but colorful corner in the history of the Mustang.
