Hello all of you,

Here is my Avro Lancaster – Dambuster in flying condition. I think you know story about  Squadron No. 617, which was established to use the special bomb designed by Dr. Barnes Wallis. Upkeep was known as bouncing bomb. During the night between 16/17 May 1943 they attacked the Mohan and Eder dams. This two were successfully breached. Eneppe and Eder survived the attack. Wg. Gibbson was awarded by Victoria Gross and 33 other aircrew were also decorated for gallantry.

I had the idea to make his model in flying condition before dropping the bomb. Dr. Wallis calculated that upkeep must be dropped from 18,3m above the dam water level. But how to fly so low. There were 2 invented lights in fuselage. When this two rays of lights touched each other on water they were 18,3m above the dam water level. I decided that these two lights gave me opportunity to make this model in flying condition. Rays are small 5mm light plastic pipes. Propellers are from clear presentation foil. And water? Easy. I wound special acrylic liquid which is like concrete filler. When it is dry....it is clear.  This is pictures taken one day after. But now a day the water is more clear and the waves are not so light. Maybe this is an idea for some of you who want to make this model in the same flying mode I decided to use.  I´m open to any question.  Happy modeling.
