This model has been in my stash for years. In fact its a combination of two AMT bridges. The newer release with much more accurate decals and 6 figures, and the old 1975 release with 3 old blobby shaped creatures and questionable markings. The original release also is a movie cut away version without the Engineering sections.

Main reason for building this was my barely 2 year old compressor just blew up. So until I could swing the money I had to build something that did not require an airbrush. Thats right, my first completely hand painted model in perhaps over twenty years. My youngest tells me this is the stupidest geeky model yet. Perhaps. But I kind of like it.

I notice the older kits figures are far larger then the newer release. But you need more figures on the bridge not less. The original release with a mere 3 guys was used to enhance the newer release. Neither 3 or 6 crew is sufficient. 9 is getting close. Plus I was able to nab some of the extra chairs. The rest of the kit with its poorly molded floor went in the garbage.
