The story goes that, during an award ceremony on the deck of the USS Hancock "The Kid" wore a Shelby Cobra t-shirt under his dress whites. It was so hot on the South China Sea that the t-shirt showed through the sweat soaked uniform. I built this Mustang for him to commemorate that incident. Terry owns the original Shelby which he bought new in 1966, and flew the A-4C Skyhawk during the Viet Nam War. You can see the Skyhawk model I built him (NP681) in the ARC gallery.

I scratch built the racing
intake under the grill, and the functional hood pins. The engine is all
wired up, and I used photo etch for the grill and emblem as well as a
bunch of interior details. Bare metal foil was used on the window, seat,
and door trim.
The rally stripes
are painted on.
