India Independence Day 2009

This is a model I started working a year back. I lost quite a few parts, so I had to resin cast all those missing parts. I happened to break the canopy to while trying to modify the IRST. So I stuck back the broken canopy made plaster cast of it with the changed IRST and vac forrmed the canopy. I added resin cast pilots. Also I die cast brass stand and chrome plated them. I also scratch built the refueling probe

The kit itself is pretty simple with not much of putty and sanding required. I used Humbrol and Testor enamel paints.  Decals are self made on a Alps printer.

I based this model on a Su-30MK (SB-017) of No.24 Squadron "Hawks" Indian Airforce, based at Lohegaon AFS.
