1/48 ESCI A-10 Warthog

This kit was given to my son as a present for his 8th birthday. I think I was as excited about the kit as he was.   I did some researching & found the reviews for this kit saying that this ESCI kit is the "worst of all the available 1/48 A-10 kits".  Oh well, it will be interesting to see how it turns out.

To add weight in the nose, I poured BB's & white glue into the ammo drum.

Ready for the gloss coating, then the decals to be applied

So I offered to my son the options of either solid grey or camo & he picks camo. Oh boy!, this would be my 1st attempt at a camo paint scheme. I left the dark grey out & just went with the 2 tone green using Model Master's dark green & medium green. I thinned the paint using Acetone.

I used my judgement on the pay-loads. The figure for the cockpit was given to me from a friend.

Overall I think the kit turned out really good. My son thinks it's the greatest model we have yet to put together, so that says it all there.
